India Crowned champions after a clinical victory against South Africa
India crowned as the T20 World cup winner after clinching a thriller victory against South Africa in the final match of T20 World Cup 2024 hosted by West Indies and U.S.A.
After 17 years, Indian fans get to see their team lift the T20 World Cup trophy. Virat Kohli played a crucial knock of 76 runs in 59 balls, while Indian team was losing wickets in a regular interval and were 34 for three wickets down inside the powerplay.
Axar Patel came and played a cameo of 47 runs in 31 balls, which helped Indian team to built a momentum in the game. But unfortunately Axar Patel was run out by the direct through of Quinton De kock.
At the end Shivam Dubey played a good knock of 27 runs in 16 ball by which India were able set a target of 177 to South Africa. The highest total by any team in the final of a men’s T20 World Cup.
South Africa’s Chase
Once again Proteas openers failed to start the chase in which Indian pace bowler Bumrah bowled out Reeza Hendricks at the score of 4. While Quinton De Kock a set a good platform by scoring 39 runs of 31 balls, but he was also caught out by Kuldeep in the third man.
South Africa at a point required just 30 runs to win with a set batters in crease, Heinrich Klaasen and David Miller. India required something special from their to win a game and Hardik Pandya came and dismissed the set batter Heinrich Klaasen, which came out to be a turnaround of the match.
Subsequently, Bumrah only scored two runs in the 18th over and got Marco Jansen out. Arshdeep Singh then scored four runs in the last over. Hardik Pandya was assigned to bowl the last over and he managed to get Miller out on the first ball.
